Don’t send a blanket to do a comforter’s job

notebook

So I bought a new, heavy comforter because it is getting cold at night. I am pretty good at that, at responding to problems with the most obvious solution.

A few weeks ago, I bought a can opener because I didn’t have one. Yeah, I was going to beat the tunafish can open with a rock, but then I thought: I’ll buy a can opener for $3. It works great.

Last night, I also put a littleA Public Spacenotebook (above) on my night table so I can write down things I think of in the wee small hours. I used to get up, turn on the computer, and type things in. This works better. I feel like I will mostly end up writing dumb things in the little notebook, but that’s fine. The waking world is dumb too—I’m looking at you, balloon boy news saga—so they’ll blend right in.
